Can I use it to power a 12V LED strip?
Yes, as long as the total current drawn by the LED strip stays within the 5 A output rating. Connect the strip's positive and negative leads to the matching +12 V and output negative terminals, observing polarity.
Does it need a separate ground connection?
The input is 220 Vac mains. Connect the mains earth terminal to a proper earth as indicated on the unit, and keep mains wiring insulated and enclosed. If you are not experienced with mains wiring, have a qualified person install it.
