Frequently asked questions
Can it protect a 12V rail?
Yes. The 15 V stand-off voltage is above a nominal 12 V rail, so it remains inactive during normal operation and clamps only when a transient exceeds its clamping level.
Does polarity matter when wiring it?
Yes. As a unidirectional device, the cathode (banded end) must go to the positive protected line and the anode to ground. Reversed wiring will conduct in forward bias and fail to protect correctly.
