About this product
SMBJ13A is a 600W unidirectional TVS diode in the SMB (DO-214AA) surface-mount package. It clamps fast transient voltages such as ESD and switching surges on I/O lines, VCC rails and other sensitive circuits. Its 13V standoff voltage keeps it inactive at normal operating voltages up to about 13V.

Connect it in parallel with the protected line, with the cathode (marked band) toward the positive line and the anode toward ground.
Can I use it on an AC line?
The unidirectional SMBJ13A is intended for DC lines. For bidirectional protection, a CA-suffix bidirectional TVS of the same series is normally used instead.
