Does it need a SIM card and external antennas?
Yes. Insert an activated SIM card and connect a GSM antenna. For GNSS positioning, a GNSS antenna is also needed, and it should have a clear view of the sky.
What power and logic levels should I use?
Provide a stable supply that can deliver high current pulses during transmission, rather than relying on a USB port alone. Check the board's UART logic level before connecting it directly to a 3.3 V or 5 V microcontroller.
