Do I need separate antennas for GSM and GPS?
Yes. The GSM antenna is needed for network access, and a separate GPS/GNSS antenna is needed for positioning, usually placed outdoors or near a window.
Can it charge a Li-ion battery connected to it?
The module includes charging control for Li-ion batteries, so a single-cell Li-ion battery can be connected to the board's charging input. Confirm the charging input and polarity on your board before connecting.
