The RT9161A-33GV is a low-noise, fixed 3.3 V low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator that delivers up to 500 mA in a SOT-23-3 package. It powers 3.3 V microcontrollers, sensors and logic from an input of up to 12 V, with low ground current, built-in current limiting and thermal protection.

Frequently asked questions
What input voltage do I need for the full 500 mA output?
The dropout is 750 mV at 500 mA, so the input should be at least about 4.05 V (3.3 V + 0.75 V). At lighter loads the dropout is lower, at 200 mV for 100 mA.
Does it need external capacitors?
LDO stability depends on the output capacitor, so use the input and output capacitors recommended in the Richtek datasheet and place them close to the pins.
