How do I wire a common anode RGB LED?
Connect the common anode pin to the positive supply. Connect each color cathode to a microcontroller pin or driver output through a current-limiting resistor, and switch that pin low to light the color. Check the pin order in the datasheet first.
What is the difference between common anode and common cathode?
The common pin is the anode (positive) in this version, so the LED is turned on by pulling each color pin low. A common cathode version is wired the opposite way, with the common pin connected to ground. Using the wrong wiring will leave the LED off or damage it.
