About this product
A fully sealed single-pole double-throw (SPDT) relay with five PCB-mount pins and a 5 V DC coil. Its contacts are rated up to 7 A at 250 VAC or 30 VDC, so it can switch higher-voltage or higher-current devices from a low-voltage control circuit. It suits Arduino and other microcontroller switching projects.

Frequently asked questions
Can an Arduino pin drive this relay directly?
Not reliably. The coil draws more current than a microcontroller pin should supply. Drive the coil through an NPN transistor or MOSFET and fit a flyback diode across the coil to protect the driver from voltage spikes.
What does the minimum switching voltage of 4.5 V mean?
The relay is specified to switch reliably only when its coil receives at least 4.5 V. Use a 5 V DC supply for the coil and avoid lower voltages, as the contacts may not switch correctly.
