Frequently asked questions
Can I drive this relay directly from an Arduino pin?
No. The 24V coil draws more current than an microcontroller pin can supply and needs a 24V supply. Drive it through a transistor or relay driver module, and place a flyback diode across the coil.
Do I need a protection diode across the coil?
Yes. Place a flyback diode across the coil, with its cathode toward the positive side of the coil, to absorb the voltage spike when the relay switches off and protect the driving transistor.
