Does the board come with the GPIO header soldered?
No. The Zero W ships with the 40-pin header unpopulated, so you need to solder a header yourself if you want to connect pins or HATs.
How is the board powered?
It is powered at 5V through the micro USB power port. Use a supply with adequate current rating and a good quality cable to avoid brownouts, especially with Wi-Fi active.
