Frequently asked questions
Can I connect 5V sensors directly to the GPIO pins?
No. The GPIO pins operate at 3.3V. Use a level shifter or a voltage divider for 5V signals to avoid damaging the microcontroller.
How do I load MicroPython or a program onto it?
Hold the BOOTSEL button while connecting the Micro USB cable. The board then appears as a USB drive, and you can copy a UF2 firmware file such as MicroPython to it, or upload code with the Pico SDK or Thonny.
