About this product
The PIC16F88-I/P is an 18-pin, 8-bit CMOS Flash microcontroller from Microchip with a 35-instruction PIC core. It features an 8 MHz internal oscillator, 256 bytes of EEPROM, a capture/compare/PWM module and an addressable USART. Its synchronous serial port runs SPI or I2C, and it includes 7 channels of 10-bit ADC and two comparators for mixed analog and digital projects.

Frequently asked questions
Can the PIC16F88 communicate over I2C?
Yes. Its synchronous serial port can be configured as SPI or I2C. External pull-up resistors are required on the SDA and SCL lines for I2C.
Does it need an external crystal?
Not necessarily. It has an 8 MHz internal oscillator, so an external crystal or resonator is only needed if your design requires a different or more precise clock.
