About this product
The P4KE550 is a 400 W transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from the P4KE series. It clamps voltage spikes on DC lines to protect downstream circuits. It is a protection device rather than a rectifier, so it should not be used as a 1 A rectifier diode.

Frequently asked questions
How do I connect a TVS diode?
Connect it in parallel across the line you want to protect, between the signal or supply line and ground or the opposite rail. Confirm whether your part is unidirectional (banded) or bidirectional, and choose a standoff voltage above the normal operating voltage.
Can I use it as a rectifier?
No. TVS diodes clamp brief high-energy transients and are not meant for rectification. For a 1 A rectifier, use a standard device such as the 1N4007, rated for the required current and reverse voltage.
