Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between 1× and 10× mode?
In 10× mode the probe attenuates the signal by ten, which reduces circuit loading and input capacitance (18.5–22.5 pF versus 85–115 pF in 1×). 1× passes the signal at full amplitude but loads the circuit more.
Do I need to compensate the probe?
Yes. Use the adjustment tool on the compensation capacitor (range 15–45 pF) so the probe matches the oscilloscope input and displays a clean square wave.
