Does capacitive touch need a stylus?
No. Capacitive touch responds to a bare finger, so it does not need a stylus. Capacitive panels are generally not operated with gloves unless the design specifically supports it.
What should I check before connecting it to a 3.3 V board?
Check the supply voltage and the logic levels in the display's datasheet, and use level shifting if the display's serial pins require a different level from your microcontroller. Then match the baud rate set in your Nextion project.
