About this product
An NTC thermistor designed to limit inrush current when a power supply or capacitor bank is switched on. Its resistance is high when cold and drops as it heats up, so it protects rectifiers and input capacitors from a large surge at start-up. Commonly used in SMPS input stages and power adapters.

Frequently asked questions
How is an inrush NTC connected in a circuit?
Place it in series with the input line, before the rectifier or bulk capacitor. It starts cold with high resistance and limits the surge; once current flows it heats up and its resistance falls, reducing power loss. Let it cool before powering the circuit again, because a hot NTC no longer limits surge effectively.
What do the numbers in 10D-11 mean?
Under the common thermistor naming convention, the number before D is the resistance in ohms (10 Ω) and the number after is the disc diameter in mm (11 mm). Check the manufacturer datasheet for the exact rated current and energy before use.
