About this product
The NE5534 is a single high-performance operational amplifier, also sold as NE5534A, SA5534 and SA5534A, known for very low noise, high output drive and high slew rate. It is internally compensated for gains of three or more and includes input protection diodes, output short-circuit protection and offset nulling. It is widely used in audio preamplifiers, active filters and precision analog stages.

Frequently asked questions
Can I run the NE5534 from a single 5 V supply?
The NE5534 is designed for dual supply rails, so a single 5 V supply is outside its intended use. For single-supply 5 V circuits, choose an op-amp designed for single-supply operation, such as the LM358 or LM2904N.
How do I null the offset voltage?
Use the BALANCE pins (pins 1 and 5 on the 8-pin DIP) with a potentiometer connected between them, and the wiper to the negative supply, as described in the datasheet. For gains below 3, add an external compensation capacitor between COMP and COMP/BAL.
