Frequently asked questions
Can I use this capacitor on 220 V mains AC?
Not unless it is specifically rated for AC mains, such as an X2-class part. MKT capacitors are usually rated for DC voltage, so check the datasheet before using it across AC mains.
Can it replace a 104 ceramic capacitor?
Yes for the same 100 nF value. A higher voltage rating is acceptable, but film capacitors are physically larger and behave differently at high frequencies, so check the board space and the circuit requirements.
