About this product
The MAX232CPE is a +5 V powered RS-232 transceiver with two drivers and two receivers. It converts the 0 to 5 V serial logic levels of a microcontroller into the RS-232 voltage levels used by legacy serial ports, modems and PC COM ports. It generates the required voltages internally from a single 5 V supply using charge pumps.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of MAX232CPE RS-232 Transceiver, +5 V Multi-channel in Egypt?
MAX232CPE RS-232 Transceiver, +5 V Multi-channel currently costs 18 EGP in Egypt.
Where can I buy MAX232CPE RS-232 Transceiver, +5 V Multi-channel in Egypt?
MAX232CPE RS-232 Transceiver, +5 V Multi-channel is available from RAM Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.
Why does MAX232 need external capacitors?
Its internal charge pump uses external capacitors to generate the positive and negative voltages needed for RS-232 levels from the 5 V supply. Connect them to the C1+, C1-, C2+, C2-, V+ and V- pins as shown in the datasheet; typical values are 1 µF.
Can MAX232 connect directly to an ESP32 or Arduino?
The RS-232 side connects to a DB9 port or a PC, but the TTL side connects to the microcontroller. Its TTL outputs swing to about 5 V, so use a level shifter or voltage divider before a 3.3 V board such as ESP32.
