Frequently asked questions
What is the price of MAC97A8 Logic Level Triac TO-92 (0.6A, 600V) in Egypt?
MAC97A8 Logic Level Triac TO-92 (0.6A, 600V) currently costs 4 EGP in Egypt.
Where can I buy MAC97A8 Logic Level Triac TO-92 (0.6A, 600V) in Egypt?
MAC97A8 Logic Level Triac TO-92 (0.6A, 600V) is available from Makers Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.
How do I wire the MAC97A8 to a microcontroller?
Connect the gate (pin 2) to the microcontroller output through a series resistor, and switch the load through pins 1 and 3 (Cathode and Anode in the listing, MT1 and MT2 in triac datasheets). Keep the gate trigger current within the 7mA maximum and check the datasheet for the resistor value.
Can I use it to switch mains voltage?
Only with proper isolation and safety precautions. Its 0.6A average current rating suits small loads only. Use an optocoupler between the microcontroller and the gate, and enclose the circuit so that mains voltage cannot be touched.
