Frequently asked questions
How do I install a copper insert nut in plastic?
Heat the insert with a soldering iron tip and press it straight into a pre-drilled hole, so the plastic melts around the knurled outside. Let it cool before inserting a screw, and avoid pressing too hard, which can crack the boss.
What screws and hole size do I need?
Use M3 screws. Compare the insert's dimensions with the boss hole in your enclosure design, and check the length against the hole depth so the screw does not bottom out or protrude.
