About this product
A force sensing resistor whose resistance drops as pressure or squeezing on its 38 mm square sensing area increases. It is simple and low cost, making it useful for detecting touch, press or grip force in prototypes. It cannot tell where on the square the pressure is applied, and its readings are approximate.

Frequently asked questions
How do I read an FSR with a microcontroller?
Build a voltage divider by placing a fixed resistor in series with the FSR, then read the midpoint with an analog input. Resistance drops as force increases, so the voltage rises. Choose the fixed resistor value based on the force range you need.
Can I use it to measure exact weight?
Not precisely. FSRs are low cost but rarely accurate, and units can vary by about 10%. They are better for detecting relative changes or ranges of force than for measuring exact weight. Use a load cell for precise measurements.
