Use an IDC10 female socket crimped onto 10-way ribbon cable. Both parts must have the same pin count and 2.54 mm pitch.
Why is the header polarized?
The keyed shroud allows the socket to be inserted in only one orientation. This prevents the ribbon cable from being connected backwards on the board.
