Do I need a flyback diode?
Yes, when the coil is driven from a transistor or microcontroller. Place a flyback (freewheeling) diode across the coil, with the cathode toward the positive supply, to protect the driver from voltage spikes.
Can it switch mains voltage?
Not at 220 V mains. The contact rating is 1 A at 125 V AC, which is below mains voltage. Use a relay specifically rated for mains loads.
