About this product
A USB-to-serial UART board built on the FTDI FT232RL chip, with an XBee-compatible socket and a 2.00 mm Grove connector, supplied with a cable. It lets a PC communicate with microcontroller boards and XBee modules over a serial link, and supports 3.3 V and 5 V target logic levels.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose between 3.3 V and 5 V?
The listing says the board supports both target voltages, but it does not describe the selection method. Check the board's voltage setting before connecting, and never feed 5 V logic into a 3.3 V-only pin.
Does it need a driver?
The FT232RL handles the USB protocol on-chip, so no firmware programming is needed. Some operating systems may still require the FTDI virtual COM port driver before the port appears.
