Frequently asked questions
Can I etch this board at home?
Yes. Single-sided FR2 is commonly etched with ferric chloride or a similar etchant after the circuit pattern is transferred onto the copper. Wear gloves and handle the chemicals carefully.
Is FR2 suitable for high-frequency or demanding designs?
FR2 is a paper-phenolic laminate generally used for simple, low-frequency circuits. For RF or demanding designs, a glass-epoxy board such as FR4 is usually preferred.
