Why is 4-20 mA used in industrial systems?
A 4-20 mA current loop is a common industrial standard. It is less sensitive to electrical noise and wire resistance than voltage signals, and the 4 mA minimum lets a receiver detect a broken loop as distinct from a zero reading.
