Frequently asked questions
How do I control this lock from an Arduino?
Power the lock from a 12 V supply and switch it with a relay or logic-level MOSFET rated for the coil current. The Arduino pin only drives the switch, not the lock. Fit a flyback diode across the solenoid because the coil is inductive.
Can I power the lock from a 5 V supply?
No. The lock is rated for 12 V DC, and at 5 V the solenoid may not produce enough force to actuate reliably.
