About this product
A 150 µF aluminium electrolytic capacitor rated for 400 V. It is used for smoothing and filtering in power supplies, for example after a bridge rectifier, and for energy storage in power-conversion circuits. Electrolytic capacitors are polarized and must be installed with the positive lead on the higher-voltage side.

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace it with a capacitor of a higher voltage rating?
Yes. A higher voltage rating with the same capacitance is safe, as long as the rating stays above the peak voltage in the circuit. A lower voltage rating is not safe.
How do I know which leg is positive?
The positive lead is usually the longer leg. The negative side is marked with a stripe on the capacitor body. Connect the positive lead to the more positive point of the circuit.
