Frequently asked questions
Do I need to remove the coating before soldering?
Yes. Conformal coating insulates and resists solder, so remove it from pads, test points and connectors before soldering or rework. Mask those areas before spraying if you do not want them coated.
Can I spray the whole board, including connectors?
Coating is normally applied to the circuit area, while connectors, switches, sockets and test points are masked off. Apply thin, even coats and let each one dry fully according to the product instructions.
