Does DW01A work alone or does it need external parts?
DW01A is normally used with an external dual N-channel MOSFET, such as the 8205A, connected to its OD and OC gate pins. The MOSFET switches the discharge and charge paths, so a complete protection circuit needs both the IC and the MOSFET.
How should DW01A be wired?
