About this product
An educational alarm kit that sounds a buzzer and flashes a red LED when a door opens. An IR sensor mounted in front of the closed door detects it, and one push button arms, disarms and silences the system. It uses the IR sensor in place of a magnetic door contact, so it is a learning project rather than a certified security system.

Frequently asked questions
Is this kit a certified home security system?
No. It is an educational model that demonstrates the logic of a door alarm. It is not an approved security product and should not be relied on to protect a home.
How does the IR sensor signal the door state?
The sensor gives a digital output of 0 or 1, and the Arduino reads it as a digital input. Mount it facing the door so it sees the door when it is closed.
