Can I use it to remove solder from SMD components?
It is intended for through-hole joints. For surface-mount components, desoldering braid or a hot-air station is usually the better choice.
How do I use the desoldering pump?
Heat the joint with your iron until the solder melts, press the plunger, place the nozzle over the molten solder, then release the plunger to draw the solder into the pump.
