## About this product

A pass-through DB9 gender changer that turns a male D-Sub 9-pin connector into a female one. It lets you join two cables of the same type when their genders do not match, for example when extending an RS232 serial link. Useful for engineers, students and hobbyists working with serial equipment.

## Specifications

- Connector type: DB9 (D-Sub 9-pin)
- Gender conversion: Male to Female
- Number of pins: 9
- Type: Gender changer adapter

## Frequently asked questions

### Does this adapter change the signal wiring?

No. It is a straight pass-through that only changes the connector gender. The pin-to-pin wiring of your cable still determines the signals, so check the pinout of your device before connecting.

### Can it be used for RS232 communication?

Yes, DB9 is the common RS232 connector and the adapter passes signals through unchanged. Confirm that your device uses RS232 voltage levels. Boards such as Arduino or ESP32 use TTL levels and need a level converter to talk to RS232.
