About this product
The DB3 is a bidirectional trigger diode (DIAC) that conducts in both directions once its breakover voltage is reached. It is commonly used to provide the gate trigger pulse for TRIACs in phase-control circuits such as lamp dimmers and motor speed controllers.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of DB3 Bidirectional DIAC Trigger Diode for TRIAC Dimmer Circuits in Egypt?
DB3 Bidirectional DIAC Trigger Diode for TRIAC Dimmer Circuits currently costs between 1 and 3 EGP across 4 offers in Egypt.
Where can I buy DB3 Bidirectional DIAC Trigger Diode for TRIAC Dimmer Circuits in Egypt?
DB3 Bidirectional DIAC Trigger Diode for TRIAC Dimmer Circuits is available from Microohm, Makers Electronics, RAM Electronics, and Ekostra. Compare the offers above to find the best price.
Does the DB3 have a polarity?
No. The DB3 is bidirectional, so either terminal can be connected to either side of the circuit and it will trigger in both half-cycles.
What is it normally used with?
It is usually paired with a TRIAC in a dimmer circuit. An RC network charges a capacitor until the DIAC breaks over, and the resulting pulse fires the TRIAC gate. Check the TRIAC and the RC timing values against your load and your datasheet.
