About this product
The BMP085 is a digital barometric pressure sensor from Bosch with an I2C interface and an absolute accuracy of up to 0.03 hPa. It connects directly to microcontrollers over I2C and is used in weather measurement, altitude estimation and detecting floor changes, such as going up or down stairs. Its built-in temperature sensor supports the pressure compensation.

Frequently asked questions
How do I wire the BMP085 to an Arduino?
Connect SDA and SCL to the board's I2C pins, connect GND to ground and the supply pin to 3.3 V. The chip itself operates at 1.8 V to 3.6 V, so do not connect a bare chip to 5 V. Its default I2C address is 0x77.
Is there a newer version of this sensor?
The BMP180 is the successor to the BMP085 and uses the same I2C address and largely compatible software, so many BMP085 libraries work with it. Newer Bosch sensors such as the BMP280 also exist, but they use different register layouts.
