Frequently asked questions
Can I power a 5V Arduino board from this holder?
Not directly. Two AA cells give about 3V, which is below the 5V that many boards need. Use a boost converter if the board requires a higher supply, or choose a 3.3V-compatible board.
Can I use rechargeable AA cells in this holder?
Yes, but NiMH AA cells are rated at about 1.2V each, so two give roughly 2.4V instead of 3V. Confirm that your circuit works at that lower voltage.
