Frequently asked questions
Can I connect 5V sensors or shields to the Arduino Due?
No. The I/O pins tolerate a maximum of 3.3V, and higher voltages such as 5V can damage the board. Use a level shifter for 5V signals.
Are Uno shields compatible with the Due?
The Due uses the Uno R3 header layout, so many shields fit physically. Check each shield's logic level, since shields that output 5V signals need level shifting before connecting to the Due.
