Which end takes which shaft?
The 5 mm bore takes the smaller shaft, such as a stepper motor shaft, and the 8 mm bore takes the 8 mm shaft, such as a lead screw.
Can I use it with two 5 mm shafts?
No. Its bores are 5 mm and 8 mm, so it is not suitable for two 5 mm shafts. Choose the 5x5 mm version for that.
