About this product
4013-Blue is a surface-mount electret condenser microphone with a round 4.0 mm x 1.3 mm body, intended for PCB assembly. It picks up voice and ambient sound for compact devices such as voice recorders, intercoms and voice-activated projects. As an electret type, it needs a bias resistor and a DC supply to operate.

How do I wire an electret SMD microphone?
Connect the supply through a bias resistor (commonly around 2.2 kΩ) to the microphone's drain pad, and take the audio from that same node through a coupling capacitor. Confirm the pad polarity from the datasheet, since the ground pad and output pad are not interchangeable.
Can it connect directly to an Arduino analog pin?
Not directly. The microphone output is a small AC signal riding on a DC bias. Feed it through a coupling capacitor into an amplifier stage, such as a small op-amp or a dedicated microphone amplifier module, before connecting to an ADC pin.
