About this product
A 3 mm two-colour LED that emits red or green light depending on the polarity of the applied voltage. With only two leads, reversing the supply switches the colour, which suits status indicators and simple polarity-based signalling. A series current-limiting resistor is required when driving it.

Frequently asked questions
How do I connect it to a microcontroller pin?
Connect it in series with a current-limiting resistor. The resistor value depends on the supply voltage and the current you want, so check the datasheet for the LED's forward voltage and maximum current.
Why does only one colour show at a time?
The two LED dies are wired in anti-parallel, so with DC only one of them conducts for a given polarity. Reversing the polarity makes the other one conduct and change the colour.
