About this product
A precision 1206 surface-mount resistor rated at 250 Ω with 0.1% tolerance, intended for converting a 4-20 mA current loop signal into a voltage. At 4 mA it develops 1 V and at 20 mA it develops 5 V across the resistor, so a microcontroller ADC can read the signal. Suited to interfacing industrial transmitters in DIY and lab projects.

Frequently asked questions
How do I connect it in a 4-20mA loop?
Place it in series with the loop and measure the voltage across it with the microcontroller's analog input. The loop supply must have enough voltage to power the transmitter plus the 5V drop across the 250 Ω resistor at 20 mA.
Can I read the 1-5V signal directly with a 3.3V board?
No. At 20 mA the voltage reaches 5V, which exceeds a 3.3V ADC input. Use a voltage divider or scale the signal so the maximum stays within the ADC reference voltage of your board.
