About this product
This 2-axis analog thumb joystick uses two 10 kΩ potentiometers, one per axis, with a common ground, similar to the sticks on PS2 controllers. The stick springs back to center and includes a push switch that activates when pressed down. It is used for game controls, robot steering and menu navigation, and it has a 5-pin connector: +5V, GND, VRx, VRy and SW.

How do I connect this joystick to an Arduino?
Connect +5V and GND to power, VRx and VRy to two analog inputs such as A0 and A1, and SW to a digital pin using INPUT_PULLUP. Each axis is a potentiometer, so read it with analogRead().
Why does the reading not return to zero at center?
Each axis is a potentiometer, so the resting position gives a mid-range value rather than zero. Read the center value at startup and use it as the offset in your software.
