No. Keep the power dissipated in each resistor below 0.25W. For higher-power circuits, use resistors with a higher wattage rating.
How do I read the resistance value?
A 1% resistor usually has five color bands. The first three bands are digits, the fourth is the multiplier, and the fifth is the tolerance, which is brown for 1%.
